Middletown KY concerts aim to reap goodwill

This is the second full season for the concert series, which runs from May to October and is sponsored by the city of Middletown.

The city books the bands, which cost up to $2,200 each, and also pays the Middletown Lions Club to prepare and serve free burgers, hot dogs, bratwursts, chips and drinks. The food bill ranges from $2,300 to $6,300, depending on how much is served, said City Commissioner Marcie Willhite, who oversees the concert series.
